Einsteins Theories
Life after Katrina, at least for awhile, looks like its going to be very interesting. Prices on fuel seem to be going up every hour. I'm getting reports over my Qualcomm that some truckstops are running out of fuel and that we should keep our tanks full. The oil companies sure didn't take long to jump on this disaster to make a profit. I see in the paper that supplies of Folgers coffee might be scarce because they got hit with Katrina. If I go into the supermarket right now, do you think they'll be jacking up the price of Folgers like they are with diesel? Probably not. I hear drivers talking on Sesame Street that we should shut down and that would show them. Yeah, right. I don't know what the answer is but I don't think Exxon Mobil gives a crap whether I drive or not. If they do care, I should send them my new address because I'm sure they're sending me birthday and Christmas cards every year but they're sending them to the wrong address. OH, well. Just try to get though all the craziness and keep your cool. God Bless.

I just started tonight on this thing they call a blog. Now, I've heard about these things because I've got a teenager who had one (notice the past tense there) and he used it one time to rant and rave about this one kid in his school. Well, the kids mom read it and soon, she was telling everyone in town about it and then my wife had to call her about it. The kids mom was going on and on about this being libelous and everything and so he apologized and shut his blog down. Now, I don't plan on getting that crazy in my writing to the point where people are going to be calling each other in shock about what I put in by blog. I'm just an ordinary trucker who's going to tell you about some of the things that cross my mind while I'm going down the road. Which means, of course, that I'll somehow probably end up in a whole lot of trouble like I always do when I open my big mouth.
That said, what kind of piece of crap, low life human being loots during a hurricane when a million people are without power? I heard a little about what was going on in New Orleans and it made me sick. I'm sure theres probably a lot of stories of people helping each other during this time and we won't hear those stories because they don't get viewers, listeners, or readers for the media. It just seems like there's not too many people out there any more who want to give their fellow man a helping hand when he's down. But there seems to be a whole lot of people who want to stick to you while you're down, that's for sure. I was in the TA in Wytheville, VA a couple of weeks ago and a young lady came by saying her car broke down and could I spare some money. I gave her some and she was shocked. Oh, I know what you're thinking, but something just struck me about her and I felt she really needed help. Should I have stayed a pessimist and saved the money for myself and told her to get lost like I usually do? I just felt that it would do my soul some good to give the money to her because I'm feeling like I'm getting to be too much of a hard case after seeing all the crap out here for the last 12 years. And I felt like it was a small price to pay to not sink into that negative thinking for that day.
So, help someone out if you can. Make it your goal. Who knows what a difference it will make in the long run.
